We first articulated the building into a base, middle, and top, which were designed around the specific tscjumi of each part of the program. Once the layout and stratigraphy of the findings were established, suitable locations for the foundation pillars were identified.

Archaeological Museum in Athens, Greece. No sooner had Tschumi put down the phone than he was told that a plane had just crashed into the World Trade Centre. An entrance lobby designed for at least 3 million visitors a year is never going to be as quiet as a temple, but this is a remarkably calming space. But how much does it matter? The visitor’s route through the museum forms a clear three-dimensional loop, affording an architectural and historical promenade that extends fro the archeological excavations, visible through a glass floor in the entrance gallery, to the Parthenon Frieze in a gallery with views over the city, and back down through the Roman period.
