He’s not ed most bods of the the Classical Latin poets I’ve read – but he wrote with such a passion and intensity that his poems are wonderfully engaging regardless. These poems are almost tender. I enjoyed the book, although Catallus will probably never be a favorite. Whose will you say you are? My favourite poems were however the ones where he mourns his brother who died in battle.
