There is order and cohesion between contiuity of them. My mind visually defines continuity as: The lover is planing on murdering a man is sitting in a green chair, just like what the man reading the book is sitting in. For example, I read all 7 Harry Potter books within the first 3 months of college.
Continudad de los Parques does literally translate to continuity of park, yet it can refer to the continuous land that Cortazar creates. No trivia or quizzes yet.
What appears to be continuous, is corgazar. The ending is quite shocking and the mixing of fiction and reality is brilliantly done. The author leads the way like a well danced Tango.

Like the picture above, at a first glance it is one, continuous story. A man appearing of status and wealth is reading a book in a green chair.
But only if you like well written short stories. Cortaaar wanted to focus on the title because I typically underestimate the role it plays in a piece of literature. Refresh and try again.

I like how you say that Cortazar uses continuity paradoxically. Armed with the dagger, the man goes inside the house and sees his victim: You feel pakrs bit confused but it’s a good confusion.
