Jay Creek-Standley Chasm S4: The Ochre Pits is accessible by 2WD. The trail follows natural watercourses and you may need to walk around pools of water in Hugh Gorge. The next day start early and walk the steep ascent to the ridgeline and along to Counts Point. This section winds through limestone hills at the headwaters of the Finke River, larwpinta of the world’s oldest rivers.
There is a published leaflet that details the requirements and attractions of completing each of the twelve sections and notice boards at the transition of each section. It is a long distance with some steep ascents.

There is a reasonable amount of water along the track, both naturally found and trucked in. The trail is very well marked with kilometre posts marking both the distance to the next campsite or section as well as the total length of the walk to go.
